Julian Lennon has been recording some of the finest rock albums and hit songs ever to grace the airwaves. The oldest son of the legendary John Lennon was signed to Atlantic Records by Ahmet Ertegun in the eighties and soon became one of the labels biggest hitmakers with his debut smash recording "Valotte".
The "Valotte" album was a big surprise upon its release in 1984. Featuring rock masterworks like his top charting hits "Too Late For Goodbyes" and "Valotte" as well as more smashes like "Say You’re Wrong" "On The Phone” and the tribute to his father "Well, I Don’t Know”, the album went on to become a platinum plus debut, and was nominated for Best New Artist by both the Grammy’s and MTV, as well as winning a ASCAP publishing award.
The Phil Ramone star studded recording sessions featured some of the finest players of our time like Barry Beckett, Roger Hawkins, David Hood from the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, as well as more greats like Ralph MacDonald, Marcus Miller, Michael Brecker and Toots Thielemans, whose harmonica is prominently featured on the “Too Late For Goodbyes”.
Featuring the dynamic vocals, songwriting and keyboards of Julian Lennon, the “Valotte” album continues to be one of the rock music finest debuts ever as the artist continues to be a continual force in music and art.
