- Karl Böhm conducts the Vienna Philharmonic !

Mozart's monumental work with the aura of dramatic eschatology, conducted by Karl Böhm, one of the best Mozart exegetes of the 20th century. His clear, yet dedicated view of Mozart, coupled with the class of the Vienna Philharmonic and a unique quartet of soloists (Edith Mathis, Julia Hamari, Wieslaw Ochman, Karl Ridderbusch), leads to an extraordinary interpretation of the Requiem. To improve the audio quality, the work was redistributed onto two LPs.

The audiophile vinyl series The Original Source presents outstanding recordings from the 1970s in a completely new sound quality. To achieve this, the renowned Emil Berliner Studios remastered and edited the original 4 and 8 track tapes in 100 % analog quality (AAA) using technologies developed specifically for the production of the series. The sonic differences compared to the original releases are considerable: Greater clarity, more subtleties and improvements in frequency response, as well as less background noise, distortion and compression enable an audiophile listening experience like never before.

The copies in this series are released limited and numbered on 180 gram vinyl records and in a deluxe gatefold edition with original covers and lyrics, accompanied by additional photos and facsimiles of the recording protocols and tape boxes.
